UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School to Host “The Business of Health: Collaborating to Rethink Healthcare” Nov. 9 USA - English
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (PRWEB) November 07, 2018 -- Industry, policy and academic experts will explore how best to meet the challenges of the U.S. healthcare system at “The Business of Health: Collaborating to Rethink Healthcare,” on Friday, Nov. 9.
The day-long conference is a collaboration between the UNC Kenan-Flagler Healthcare Club, Center for the Business of Health and the Frank H. Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School. It will be held at the Kenan Center and is open to the public.
Sessions will explore the effects of technological advances, public-private competition, an aging population, value-based care, healthcare data analytics, industry consolidation and innovations in clinical trials.
Bryony Winn, chief strategy officer for BlueCross BlueShield NC; Dr. Peter Marks, director of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research; and Howard Kern, CEO of Sentara Healthcare, will give keynote addresses.
There’s never been a better time to discuss healthcare, said Markus Saba, executive director of the Center for the Business of Health at UNC Kenan-Flagler. “The U.S. healthcare system is at a crossroads, not just because of concerns over care and costs, but because of the proliferation of new ideas and technologies.
