New York Private Sector Investors Meet With U.S. Treasury Officials, U.S. Conference of Mayors, National Governors Association and Faith Based Leaders
NEW YORK, Jan. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The National Infrastructure Investment Alliance (NIIA) held its second U.S. Opportunity Zone Expo ™ in New York City on Jan 23rd at the Wyndham New Yorker hotel. Over one hundred and fifty (150) private sector investors, real estate developers, infrastructure experts and faith based leaders attended the one day event. The forums goal was to provide attendees with the latest updates related to U.S. Treasury regulations for the new tax provision. U.S. Treasury official Daniel Kowalski, Counselor to U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin was on hand to provide a broad overview of the Opportunity Zone initiative as well as providing insights into the spirit and intent of the program.
The full day forum was divided into two working sessions, a morning forum of panelists headlined by the National Governors Association, the U.S. Conference of Mayors and the NY Empire State Development Corp. The afternoon session highlighted private sector investors representing KPMG; Goldman Sachs; Citi; Kipling Jones; Water Asset Mgmt.; MorganStanley. and the expo's sponsor, Walison Development, LLC.
