United Way of Frederick County and BGE HOME Continue Partnership on "A Gift of Warmth" to Help a Family in Need
United Way of Frederick County and BGE HOME's partnership program, "A Gift of Warmth," will be accepting nominations from November 4 through December 1 to help a family in need.
FREDERICK, Md., Nov. 5, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- This holiday season, one family in need will receive a much welcomed gift – a new high-efficiency heating system – thanks to the "A Gift of Warmth" program sponsored by BGE HOME, and United Way of Frederick County (UWFC).

United Way of Frederick County and BGE HOME have partnered to bring "A Gift of Warmth" to one Frederick County individual or family in need since 2013.
The 2018 recipient, Mohamed Ismail, stood out to the panel of United Way volunteers due to struggling to heat his multigenerational home. His outdated system was causing his energy bill to skyrocket. When the BGE HOME volunteers arrived to install the new system for the Ismail family, they were surprised to see that the old system was almost completely frozen.
The ALICE Report for Maryland revealed that 39 percent of Frederick County households struggle to afford basic household necessities. With that in mind, United Way of Frederick County and BGE HOME are excited to work together to help a household in need reduce costs and stay safe and warm in their home for many winters to come.
