University of Hawaii Grants Two-Day Workshop to Help Fund Sustainable Solutions for Homelessness and Other Causes
HONOLULU (PRWEB) July 07, 2023 -- The University of Hawaii to host the upcoming Grant Writing Workshop on August 10-11, 2023 by Grant Central USA. This workshop is designed to provide people with the skills and resources necessary to effectively write grants that benefit their communities.
This year has seen an increase in funding for grant initiatives fighting homelessness nationwide. HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge unveiled a significant funding initiative aimed at confronting homelessness in the United States. With a budget of $3.1 billion, this nationwide effort will commence in July. The importance of this funding was emphasized during Secretary Fudge's visit to Hawaii earlier this week.
In fact, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders face the most severe homelessness issue in the United States, with a rate of 121 per 10,000 individuals, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Shockingly, although Native Hawaiians make up only 19% of the population in Honolulu County from 2017-2020, they account for a staggering 41% of the unhoused population.
Rodney Walker, grant specialist with Grant Central USA says, "Grant writing is an art form that requires tremendous dedication and hard work, but it can provide a powerful source of income to support communities throughout Hawaii. The advancements with AI technology is making it easier to develop better proposals faster so that nonprofits and government agencies can focus on what they do best to improve our communities."
This workshop will provide attendees with essential tools and strategies for successful grant writing.
