Valbridge Property Advisors, the largest independent commercial property valuation and advisory services firm in the United States, announced today they have expanded to New Mexico following the acquisition of Commercial Appraisal, Inc., and Brooks Persall Zantow LLC. The two firms are well-established, highly respected commercial appraisal firms in the region.

The two firms are well-established, highly respected commercial appraisal firms in the region.
Leading the Valbridge Property Advisors | New Mexico team will be Larry Brooks, MAI; Bruce Gunderson, MAI; Gareth N. Burman, MAI; and Dean Zantow, SRA. All four principals are designated members of the Appraisal Institute. Brooks, Gunderson, Burman, and Zantow have more than a century of combined experience in real estate appraisal and market study assignments for institutional decision-makers, lenders, government agencies, and attorneys. The Valbridge Property Advisors | New Mexico office will continue to specialize in commercial appraisal, including all types of income-producing and special-purpose properties.
Additionally, the team has years of experience appraising single-family homes, multiple-parcel eminent-domain projects, partial interests, and real estate-related businesses (food service, hospitality, and resort/recreational). The combined eminent domain experience includes specialties in assignments involving electrical transmission lines and substations, oil and gas pipelines, dams, levees, reservoirs and waterworks, airports, railroads, and numerous acquisition appraisals for the New Mexico Department of Transportation throughout the state.

About the Team
Larry N. Brooks, MAI will be leading the Valbridge Property Advisors | New Mexico office. Brooks has worked in the appraisal industry since 1973 after graduating from the University of New Mexico with a concentration in Economics. Brooks has a broad range of experience in appraising most types of real property and partial interests, consulting, project management, and real estate development. Brooks has appraised a variety of types of "going concerns". Over the past thirty-five years, Brooks has specialized in the preparation of complex appraisals, market studies and feasibility analyses, and general real estate consulting. Brooks is a member of the Appraisal Institute, has served on AI national committees, and holds MAI and SREA professional designations.
Bruce R. Gunderson, MAI began his career as a staff appraiser for Iowa Appraisal and Research Corp. after graduating from Iowa State University in 1984. Gunderson's 30+ years of experience includes primarily appraising commercial, industrial, multifamily, land, and single-family residential properties. Gunderson is a member of the Appraisal Institute, has completed more than 25 professional courses through AI, and holds the MAI professional designation.
Gareth N. Burman, MAI, MRICS is one of the founding Principals of Commercial Appraisal, Inc. which was incorporated in 1994, and has been the sole owner since 2001. Burman's appraisal experience includes general practice appraisal work serving all of New Mexico and a blend of both private and public sector clientele. Over the past fifteen years, the firm has specialized in right-of-way appraisals completing projects in most New Mexico counties for clients such as the New Mexico Department of Transportation and municipal governments. Burman is a member of the Appraisal Institute and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Dean Zantow, SRA, AI-RRS has been in valuation and advisory services since 1979, specializing in all things residential. In addition to traditional residential appraisal services, Zantow's work includes appraisal consulting, appraisal review, market analysis, highest and best use studies, eminent domain and right-of-way appraisals, litigation support and dispute resolution, forensic appraisals, and detrimental conditions valuation. Zantow holds the SRA and AI-RRS designations from the Appraisal Institute. He is a course and seminar instructor for the Appraisal Institute and is an AQB Certified USPAP instructor. Zantow is a New Mexico Certified General Appraiser and was the chairman of the New Mexico Real Estate Appraiser's Board from 2011-2021.
