Valka reveals groundbreaking frozen fish processing solutions
Valka is proud to introduce state-of-the-art frozen fish processing solutions with a new line of graders for batching and automatic packing, enabling processors to maximise their productivity while minimising their costs.
REYKJAVÍK, Iceland, Oct. 15, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Renowned for its water-jet cutting machine, Valka's frozen fish processing solutions portfolio is expanding to include the Aligner Packing Robot and High-Speed Portion Grader for IQF products. Using the most advanced technology, this revolutionary equipment offers frozen fish processing solutions with the intricate design and technical accuracy necessary when producing and shipping high-quality products for the freezer aisle.
The Aligner Packing Robot automatically grades, batches and packs unique quick-frozen (IQF) fillets or portions with the specialised capabilities to meet the most demanding packing requirements. Using advanced robots that apply a game theory algorithm to each individual fillet, the system can determine the best solution for the task at hand based on actual fillet weights, thereby reducing overpack and minimal giveaway.
With a capacity of up to 80 frozen pieces per minute, ranging in size from 80 to 800 millimetres in length, the Aligner Packing Robot can grade based on weight, length, or quality with precision. The machine weighs, measures, aligns, and batches products, and boasts a carousel car that gently retrieves products from the scale and moves them to the appropriate box. These extraordinary features set it apart from traditional equipment in the frozen fish processing category, ensuring premium product quality and significantly reducing waste.
Offering unparalleled per square meter throughput, Valka's High-speed Portion Grader can be built with up to four lanes capable of simultaneously and automatically sorting products based on weight and dimensions. Equipped with a soft dropping mechanism at each gate, the gentle touch technology ensures products flow smoothly into the buffer, keeping the frozen fish offerings untouched and efficiently packed in any size box.
Customisable by design, processors can choose whether they want it to be assembled with a fully-automated system or the traditional circular feed. The High-Speed Portion Grader allows for the better economisation of limited space in facilities.
Since debuting its water-jet cutting machine at Seafood Expo Global 2014 in Brussels, Belgium, Valka has been focused on increasing its processing presence worldwide. The company contracted with Båtsfjordbruket in September 2019 to provide two complete automated fillet processing lines for whitefish and salmon. It also contracted with Norway's SalMar in March 2020 to give the seafood supplier a state-of-the-art salmon grading and packing system.
