Veterinary Study Groups is the parent of 42 Veterinary Management Groups (VMGs), providing structure which enables practice owners to come together to benefit from each other's wisdom and business content which helps to support each practice's respective medical mission. There are currently more than 900 members who own 1,260 veterinary practices participating in VMGs throughout North America.
Veterinary Practice Partners currently has 54 practices in 20 states with 55 DVM co-owners of the hospitals. VPP's philosophy promotes co-ownership of practices with veterinarians, including encouraging younger DVMs to become owners to ensure long-term DVM ownership in practices and clinical independence.
VMG membership and participation in proven meeting and membership protocols is expected to help leaders of VPP practices to achieve optimal clinical and business success. Dr. Douglas Aspros, Chief Veterinary Officer for VPP and former VMG member said, "As a former member, I am convinced that the participation of our clinical leaders in VMG will help them to observe best practices across their peer group, helping our already successful practices to achieve even higher levels of practice success and positive clinical outcomes".
Link Welborn, DVM DABVP, President of Veterinary Study Groups added, "VSG believes that veterinarian ownership will remain integral to the most successful practices of the future and the VPP model of co-ownership with veterinarians makes them a good fit for Veterinary Management Group membership. I'm sure the veterinarian partners within VPP practices will benefit greatly from the collaborative synergies within their VMG groups as with all VMG members."
