Vetology® Innovations Competes for $10,000 Prize at the Veterinary Innovation Summit for New Automated Radiograph Software
Company to Continue Driving Efficiencies and Cost Savings across 400+ Veterinary Clinics with Automated Radiograph Image Interpretation Software
SAN DIEGO, April 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Vetology® Innovations, LLC, an advanced veterinary software technology and innovation company serving the veterinary industry, today announced Dr. Seth Wallack, DACVR, founder of Vetology®, will present its new Vetology AI software at the Veterinary Innovation Summit, April 5-7, 2019 in College Station, Texas. The presentation is part of a competition hosted by the Veterinary Innovation Summit for a $10,000 grand prize.
The Veterinary Innovation Summit is a gathering of people, organizations, and technology providers who are all committed to advancing the future of the veterinary profession. The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC), Veterinary Innovation Council (VIC) and Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM) have collaborated to create this unique and immersive program.
Vetology® has successfully serviced veterinary clinics and emergency hospitals globally, utilizing hundreds of thousands of existing radiograph reads when clinics need an outside opinion to accurately interpret a radiograph. The company recognizes a looming crisis concerning veterinary radiologists as the rate of demand increase for advanced remote radiograph reads will far exceed the supply of board certified radiologists over the next several years.
In response to this imbalance, the company has developed its Vetology AI software and is currently running beta trials in 400 clinics. The software uses artificial intelligence to provide rapid automated radiographic analysis to assist clinicians with image screening and triage, accelerating decision-making and delivery of pet care, with 92% agreement to date. The software will also mitigate the coming 4X increase in teleradiology caseload, for which there are currently no other long-term solutions and which cannot be absorbed given current projections.
The first AI models screen for heart size, heart failure, and lung pathology, and the Vetology AI development roadmap includes over 50 additional models slated for the next 18 months.
Further, the automated radiographic analysis renders in about 3 minutes in contrast to the longer turn-around time associated with a typical remote radiograph read. The positive impact of having the analysis in-hand in minutes is significant for improved pet care, owner satisfaction, and veterinary clinicians.
