Visionary video borescope PCE-VE 800N4 for the process industry
PCE Instruments launched the new video borescope PCE-VE 800N4 which allows the user to check in advance if components have to be replaced. With this preventive maintenance method, downtimes of machines and plants are often avoided and unnecessary costs can be saved. The video borescope is equipped with a 1.5 m cable and a camera head with a diameter of only 2.8 mm.

Today's modern machines are getting more and more compact, regardless of the area of application. This does not only have positive consequences. It is a huge disadvantage that it is getting increasingly difficult to access its components. PCE Instruments launched the new video borescope PCE-VE 800N4 which allows the user to check in advance if components have to be replaced. With this preventive maintenance method, downtimes of machines and plants are often avoided and unnecessary costs can be saved. The video borescope is equipped with a 1.5 m cable and a camera head with a diameter of only 2.8 mm. This allows very small cavities to be inspected and weak points to be detected. With the help of the 4-way camera head the video borescope can be moved freely in four directions. In areas which are hard to access, such as engines and turbines, the mobility of the PCE-VE 800N4 as well as the display with a high resolution of 400 x 400 pixels are very helpful. The field of view is 80 °, i. e. the PCE-VE 800N4 video borescope can be placed very close to the object to be inspected but very large image recordings are still possible. The focus distance is between 5 and 50 mm. All image and video recordings can be stored to the included SDHC memory card (64 GB) for later documentation.
Originally, endoscopes were developed for medical diagnostics. Today, they are also used for surgical interventions in the medical field and for visual inspection of cavities that are extremely difficult to access in the industrial field. Rigid and flexible borescopes are the main types that can be found on the market. Borescopes are offered in different variations, for instance with a picture-in-picture function, a video function, with different diameters of the camera cables and camera heads, etc.
