DBpedia is the crowd-sourced community effort to extract structured content from the information created in various Wikimedia projects and publish these as files on DBpedia's Databus. This structured information resembles an open knowledge graph which is available for query by everyone on the Web.

Knowledge graphs are databases developed to store knowledge in a machine-readable form, organized as connected, context-enriched data. Following the publication of DBpedia and Freebase 12 years ago, knowledge graphs became popular and used in applications such as Google's knowledge cards displayed in search results.
