Wayne Homes Employees Support Doylestown Share-A-Christmas and Other Local Charities for the Holidays
UNIONTOWN, Ohio (PRWEB) December 21, 2018 -- Wayne Homes, an Ohio-based custom home builder that specializes in on-your-lot custom homes, has donated over $14,000 on behalf of their home office employees through the company’s Share-A-Christmas program this year.
Each year, Wayne Homes employees hold fundraisers at the home office to raise money for the Share-A-Christmas fund. Each department worked together to raffle off prizes, sell baked goods, host office lunches, initiate penny wars, and hold several other fundraisers to collect money.
This year, Wayne Homes adopted 25 children through the Doylestown, Ohio Share-A-Christmas program and was able to spend $250 on Christmas presents for each child.
“Having moved to Doylestown a little over a year ago, I love this community and knowing that I work for a company where all the employees join in on raising money to buy Christmas gifts for the Doylestown children every year is such an amazing feeling,” Sherry Schaadt, executive assistant, said. “Knowing that Wayne Homes and its employees are responsible for these children and their parents having a great Christmas, well, there is no better feeling in the world!”
The remaining amount was donated to several Akron area charities, including the Ronald McDonald House, Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, Haven of Rest, Stark County Humane Society, Open M, and the Akron Rotary Camp.
The Share-A-Christmas program is one of the many community involvement programs Wayne Homes carries out every year. Through the programs, Wayne Homes hopes to make a meaningful difference to those less fortunate during the holiday season.
Since the program began in 2009, Wayne Homes employees have raised and donated more than $87,000 to charities through the Share-A-Christmas program.
“Share-A-Christmas was a huge success again this year and we were able to fulfill the Christmas wishes for 25 children in a local community,” Stephanie Yates, head of the company’s steering committee, said. “Knowing that my co-workers and the company I work for were able to make this happen warms my heart. Also, being able to participate in the purchasing of the gifts if the icing on the cake. I can only imagine how those children and parents will feel on Christmas morning.”
