WellnessLiving’s CEO to Participate in the Tour de Cure
TORONTO (PRWEB) July 19, 2018 -- WellnessLiving’s co-founder and CEO, Len Fridman, will be participating in the American Diabetes Association’s signature fundraising event, the Tour de Cure. This event is a challenging 120 km (75 mile) cycling event through the California desert. As someone whose family has been deeply affected by diabetes, Len is determined to support the research and prevention of diabetes in any way that he can.
Growing up, both of Len’s grandmothers were diagnosed with diabetes. His paternal grandmother had both her legs amputated and later succumbed to the disease, while his maternal grandmother passed away due to complications related to her diabetes. When his father was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, Len became even more driven to raise awareness about the disease.
One of Len’s fondest childhood memories took place when he turned 13 years old. His family did not have a lot of money, but his grandmother saved as much as she could to buy him a Norco bike that he still owns to this day. Since she passed, Len has bought Norco bikes for his whole family in her memory. The Tour de Cure, combining cycling with fundraising for diabetes, is an event that Len feels he is fated to be a part of.
