Western States Trucking Association Launches Insurance Subsidiary
UPLAND, Calif., July 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Western States Trucking Association announces the formation of WSTA Insurance Services ( http://www.wstainsurance.com) as part of its ongoing mission to provide high quality products and services to our membership. Insurance services will complement the other business units providing services to members that includes American Alliance Drug Testing and American Alliance Authority & Compliance. The new operation is located within association headquarters at 334 N. Euclid Ave, Upland, CA. 91786. Phone: 909-982-9898.
Chris Mitchell, a twenty-seven-year veteran of the insurance industry, was named to lead the effort. Prior to WSTA, Mitchell spent the last seven years in various roles with regional and national brokerages. Previously, he served in several roles over a twenty-year career at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company including senior vice president and general sales manager. "I'm very excited to be a part of such a well-respected organization that has served the trucking industry since 1941", said Mitchell. "We received our entity license on April 12, 2018. We have obtained many appointments with major carriers and are fully operational."
Currently licensed in California (CA insurance license #0M27693). Licenses pending in other states.
"Over the past few years, our members have expressed concerns over the availability of insurance alternatives for their businesses, especially in the small fleet and independent contractor segments. Having evaluated the viability of creating an in-house insurance agency, we feel the timing is right to execute this expanded services initiative," said Lee Brown, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, WSTA.
About WSTA
Founded in 1941, the Western States Trucking Association (WSTA), formerly the California Construction Trucking Association (CCTA) is the oldest, independent nonprofit trucking association in the U.S. with over 1,000 members and another 5,000 affiliate motor carriers. We advocate on behalf of our owner-operator, fleet, and broker members for sensible legislation and regulations that affect their businesses. We also provide many membership benefits specifically tailored to the needs of small-business truckers. If you operate within the western region of the U.S., being a member of the WSTA can be the best investment you make to stay informed on issues and operate a safe and profitable trucking company.
