World's Largest Gluten Free & Allergy Friendly Expo Returns To Northern California
SAN MATEO, Calif., Oct. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Approximately 15 million people in the United States have food allergies/sensitivities - and those numbers are on the rise. What was once a niche condition is now commonplace with modified diets like gluten-free, dairy-free, Paleo, Keto and others becoming increasingly widespread.
What better way to sample alternative food products than a fun day at an Expo? The San Mateo Gluten Free and Allergen Friendly Expo is returning to the San Mateo County Event Center November 17-18 from 10am-3pm daily. This weekend-long, family-friendly event allows attendees the rare opportunity to sample new, delicious products risk-free from 100+ local exhibitors and attend free educational presentations hosted by industry-respected speakers.
While all products at the GFAF Expo are gluten free, many exhibitors will also showcase products free from the top eight allergens. Presented by Enjoy Life Foods, this event is ideal for the whole family and those following a gluten or allergen-free diet.
"With flavorful comfort foods like pizza and baked goods to healthy lifestyle options like protein bars and probiotic drinks, this expo offers a wide variety of tasty products for nearly any specialty diet," said GFAF Expo Founder Jen Cafferty. "An event of this scale being accessible to the general public is a rare and exciting way to explore new products and sample new options before you buy them."
A sample of this year's exhibitors includes:
- Bread SRSLY uses traditional sourdough fermentation to make make certified gluten-free sourdough bread that is seriously delicious and wildly nourishing. Their products are also vegan, allergy-friendly and made from organic ingredients. Bread SRSLY will be sampling and selling their loaves and rolls at booth #605.
- Odd Bagel, locally based in Richmond, CA, wants to know the last time you had a real bagel? Not just gluten-free, but also vegan, dairy-free, egg-free, nut-free, corn-free, soy-free and potato-free! They still boil and bake in the New York style to achieve the taste and feel of the real thing. Come to booth #306 to give them a try!
- The Nima Sensor is the world's first portable sensor that tests food for gluten or peanuts. It won the PTPA award, was named one of Time Magazine's best inventions, and is recognized and partially funded by the NIH. Stop by their booth and see the Nima Sensor in action.
- Sonoma Creamery will be sampling delicious baked cheese snacks (including Parmesan Crisps!) at their booth. All Sonoma Creamery snacks are made in their dedicated gluten-free facility, using 100% natural cheese made from rBST-free milk.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. A one-day ticket is $15 for adults and $5 for children at the door.
