“A Night to Fight” Benefit for Dallas Leadership Foundation’s Ring of Hope Boxing Club Will Be Held by The URHOPE Foundation and Standing 8 Promotions
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- The Ring of Hope Boxing Club (ROH) gives Dallas at-risk youth a chance to box and work out at a gym as an alternative to hanging out on the streets. ROH participants have the opportunity to get physical exercise, learn boxing techniques, get support from professional trainers, and participate in life skills coaching and Bible studies. Some ROH teens compete in local, state, and national boxing championship matches as well. The 8,000-square-foot ROH gym is open six days a week and managed by Hector Pena, a professional boxer on staff with the Dallas Leadership Foundation.
The Ring of Hope Boxing Club was founded by The URHOPE Foundation in 2010, and maintained by the Dallas Leadership Foundation (DLF). Several professional boxers represented by Standing 8 Promotions, along with other fighters from around the globe are currently training for the annual “A Night to Fight” event. Standing 8 boxers Hector Vazquez of Irving, TX, Tony Lopez of Fort Worth, TX, Kenny Grammer of Wichita Falls, TX, and Marquis Taylor of Houston will all fight on February 27th. Chris Faz of Austin, TX, Hector Valdez of Corpus Christi, TX, and Thanasis Michaloudis of Kavala, Greece are also already on the fight card.
Hector Vazquez will defend his Texas Super Welterweight Title during the 8 round main event fight of the evening. His challenger as well as other fights and matches will be announced shortly. Standing 8 events are known for providing consistently great matches, so the evening promises to be action filled. In addition to the fights, those who donate by purchasing tickets will enjoy a catered dinner and be entertained by celebrity ring announcer Mark Elfenbein.
