‘Americans Knocking At Freedom’s Door’ Presents An Exploration Of America’s Past
(PRWEB) July 19, 2017 -- ACWORTH, Ga – Inspired by her love for America and concerned by complacency she saw, Bernie Lee (Yoder) Smith-DeBoe wrote “Americans Knocking at Freedom’s Door: The Uniquely American Heritage of Religious Freedoms and Government of and by the People” (published by iUniverse) to remind Americans that the country is stronger when the people stand together. The book explores the challenges people faced when coming to America. Smith-DeBoe is launching a marketing campaign to expand the book’s reach.
Smith-DeBoe says, “Our knowledge of American history generally … tells us very little about our early settlers, their challenges, and their background as people of religious faith.”
The book’s title, “Americans Knocking At Freedom’s Door,” is its beginning and theme. Smith-DeBoe offers an understanding of America by going back further than its creation as the United States of America. She covers and discusses Noah’s ark, stories about ancient tribes and the Middle Ages, religious wars and why the early settlers came to America. She also offers some historical background and accounts about the Founding Fathers and more contemporary Americans who established and helped the United States to grow.
Smith-DeBoe hopes this book will remind all Americans about their roots. “Our ancestors were survivors and we are part of their DNA,” Smith-DeBoe says. “We have to continue to build this great country for ourselves and for our ancestors and freely discuss our differences, rejoice in our shared values and act on our pledge to preserve America’s greatness. We stand together as Americans, and we need to come together as Americans.”
