"Angel Sparkles" Empowers School Aged Children, Helps Them to Feel Loved, Safe and Supported in Life
Forsyth, GA (PRWEB) July 25, 2017 -- There are a number of books written about optimism, yet one new book brings this message home powerfully around the topic of guardian angels with guidance and protection beyond what we can physically see.
Angel Sparkles is a new children’s book written by long time grief expert and registered nurse Gail Trauco that introduces guardian angels and the help and reassurance they offer. This story manages to mix the modern world of computer tablets, cellular phones and skateboards with an underlying kindness and belief in making things right. The sweet, simple and down home approach Trauco brings to Angel Sparkles is inspired by her Southern upbringing and informed by her own healing after numerous losses and major life changes during her childhood, including grief of poverty, abandonment, and death of relatives and pets.
“I grew up knowing that I had guardian angels that helped me through some very challenging times growing up in sheer poverty,” says Trauco, a licensed Grief Mediator who has helped more than 5,000 families through the grieving process. “At that time, I did not have anyone in my life that I could tell about this support from the other side, which remarkably helped me make it to college, have a successful career and raise three amazing sons. I wrote Angel Sparkles so that children could know that everyone has at least one guardian angel and that they are being watched over no matter what circumstances they are going through.”
In Angel Sparkles, the main character Ashlee Holland, age 12, and her mother have a conversation about Ashlee having a guardian angel who helps look out for her, especially in challenging times. Ashlee is just starting middle school and while she knows many of the students, the new environment is very different and making her feel anxious. Ashlee then begins to experience her daily life in a new way, tells her friends at school about guardian angels, and gains an appreciation for all of the good people and things around her. Ashlee and her best friend Megan have adventures that seem to prove that there were, indeed, angels and the two little girls found they could help other people and be guardian angels themselves.
According to Trauco, it is very natural for any person and especially children to want to “run and hide” in the face of anxiety, grief, and/or loss. Angel Sparkles is consciously written to help introduce the concept of guardian angels and personal empowerment in terms that make sense to a child. The character of Ashley, created by Trauco and brought to life by illustrator Ms. Mahfuja Selim, is a young and positive archetype that boys and girls of all ages can relate to and learn from.
