“Art Matters | Curated” Debuts in Santa Fe April 18 – 27, 2014 Celebrating Figuration In Art With Critical Exhibitions and Discussions
Santa Fe, NM (PRWEB) April 21, 2014 -- The Santa Fe Gallery Association (SFGA) announces “Art Matters | Curated”, the fourth installment of its successful annual “Art Matters series”, to be held April 18 – 27, 2014. Curated exhibitions, special events, artist talks and critical discussions will be featured in participating Santa Fe galleries, museums and other locations throughout the week and announced separately. Figuration, a very broad term that can include sculptures and paintings that reference the real world, will be the curatorial focus of this series. Celebrating both figuration and the diversity of art in Santa Fe, these exhibitions will cover a wide range of art, historical periods and related topics. The Art Matters series hosted by the SFGA, including the annual events Art Matters | Collections in February, Art Matters | Sustenance in March, Art Matters | Curated in April and Art Matters | Santa Fe in October, emphasizes critical presentations and discussions of a wide range of art in the member galleries and museums. These events focus on connoisseurship and the unique art experience Santa Fe offers to collectors by showcasing the breadth and depth of exhibitions and collections in the galleries and museums and the scholarly owners, directors and curators who provide the experience. Santa Fe has a rich and vibrant art scene with artists, curators, writers, critics, students and collectors whose interests and expertise are as diverse as the people themselves, reading like an art history text.
