“Best House of Worship” Awarded to Technical Innovation for 2nd Consecutive Year
Norcross, GA (PRWEB) June 18, 2015 -- Winners of Commercial Integrator’s 2015 Integration Awards were announced Wednesday, June 17th during a ceremony held at the publication’s booth on the show floor of InfoComm2015, the AV Industry’s preeminent annual tradeshow. For a second consecutive year, Technical Innovation’s Blue Hat Design, experts devoted exclusively to the technology needs of faith-based organizations, was awarded “Best House of Worship” for their innovative creation and deployment of a portable worship solution. Accepting the award from Craig MacCormack, Editor, Commercial Integrator, were Mike Landrum, CEO and Andy Jackson, VP of Sales. "There was a lot of competition in the worship category, but the judges were drawn to how nimble and innovative TI was in solving their client's challenge," says Tom LeBlanc, Editor, Commercial Integrator.
Commercial Integrator and sister publication TechDecisions (Worship TechDecisions) “honors stand-out, problem solving installations that address commercial customers' needs.” Meeting the challenge presented by 12Stone® Church, the largest Wesleyan congregation in the US serving over 30,000 parishioners, to launch across five different campuses in one weekend, TI’s Blue Hat team did more than solve a problem; they developed a complete mobile, multi-media kit that temporarily transforms any facility into an engaging worship environment.
The solution is the brainchild of TI’s Broadcast Solutions Group and Blue Hat Design President, Michael Wright and his team of audio, video and lighting experts. “A big trend in the industry today is the multi-campus church. We were excited to address 12Stone’s challenge, helping to bring engaging worship experiences to organizations outside the traditional church setting by offering some type of portable solution,” explains Wright. “They (12Stone) wanted an option for temporary touring, as well as installations for their audio, video, and lighting. This is a huge operation! It involved rolling in, rigging the stages and lighting, getting equipment into place and checking acoustics in time for the service. Once the service ended, we had to turn around and tear the whole thing down, pack it up and start all over again the next weekend! We quickly recognized the need for such a flexible, packaged kit and the various applications that it could serve. That was our inspiration.”
The resulting AVL production system met the church’s goal of a producing a concert-level experience, consistent with their existing locations, including a live band, powerful sound, dynamic lighting and HD video capabilities. “The race against time was our greatest challenge,” offers David Roche, Project Manager, adding “and the systems had to be designed so that setup and operation could be accomplished by an entirely volunteer staff.” The church now has the ability to serve surrounding communities with inspirational services and the added benefit of being able to deploy the powerful system in a variety of venues.
