“Brunch for Love”, a Summer Afternoon Brunch Party Benefiting Aviva Children & Family Services Calling on Local Community to Help Raise Funds for Foster Kids in LA
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 23, 2014 -- This Project is created out of my love for kids and my commitment to make a difference in my community.
Maryam Laaly is proud to be hosting a fundraising event benefiting the Aviva children and family service “Brunch for love” on August 17, 2014 at Madera Kitchen and Bar https://www.facebook.com/events/1489601347944320/.
The mission of Aviva Family and Children’s Services is to provide a comprehensive range of diverse and culturally sensitive therapeutic and educational programs to help at-risk, emotionally distressed, abused, and neglected youth – as well as their families – function more effectively as individuals and within the family and community.
Maryam is calling for support from the local community, inviting them to join together at this event to help make a difference and ensure every child has the tools they need to succeed. The “Brunch for love” event will help raise money and awareness for Aviva center. "You can attend this event at no cost, we believe that making a difference is not only donating money, every person could contribute by either donating money, volunteering for the center or mentoring the kids," said Maryam Laaly.
While no two children are alike, many have common risk factors of mental health issues, family histories of violence or drug and alcohol abuse, or exposure to criminal and violent environments in their neighborhood or school. Children, teens and families in Aviva center programs reflect the many cultures and diversities within Los Angeles.
Aviva’s programs result in lasting changes in the lives of children, teens and families as they receive the help they need to cope with traumatic experiences and are able to develop appropriate social, behavioral and independent living skills.
Aviva’s expert and experienced staff is ready and committed to providing a full range of therapeutic and educational services, including assessment, diagnosis and treatment. The singular goal of each program is to help children, teens and their families find new paths to functioning more effectively both as individuals and as members of the family and community.

All children need and deserve the love and security of a nurturing family. At Aviva, we believe that the family is the foundation of a child’s emotional well being. Children who live in nurturing, stable environments are most likely to mature into healthy, productive adults. Aviva's foster family agency seeks to find such families for children who are among the most vulnerable and neglected in the county. By limiting the size of the caseloads, Aviva’s social workers are able to provide weekly home visits, diligent oversight and support to the foster children and their foster families.
Aviva gives critical attention to recruiting and screening individuals and couples who can provide a safe, structured and nurturing home. Foster parent(s) are provided with intensive education in caring for children with histories of emotional trauma. We seek diversity in our parental selection, knowing that a loving home can be created in a variety of settings. We are always there for our families with guidance, education and 24-hour on-call support.
