‘Children of a Darker Path’ addresses current issues teens face
RIGBY, Idaho (PRWEB) February 10, 2015 -- Teenagers face many issues as they transition from being a child to an adult. Wanting to shed light on these issues, author Michael Jackson wrote his new novel, “Children of a Darker Path” (published by Lulu).
Dealing with issues such as sexuality, drug abuse, religion and racism, “Children of a Darker Path” does not shy away from sensitive material. The book, set in Idaho, follows teenagers Michael, Reda and Sissy.
“With a balance of comedy and tragedy, this book puts the reader on an emotional roller coaster of entertainment,” Jackson says.
An excerpt from “Children of a Darker Path”:
“You would think with all the book reports I have done that writing my life story would be easy but it is not. To start with I am only sixteen. My life is starting, not ending. Who am I to tell people what I know? I don’t know jack. I’m at that age when you think you know everything but unlike most kids my age I have brains enough to know I don’t. However I will tell you about things I know of and throw in facts and opinions.”
