“Disrupted” Author Dan Lyons Is the Business Keynote Speaker at InfluenceHR 2016
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) August 03, 2016 -- Adding to the excitement of this year’s InfluenceHR event, The Starr Conspiracy (TSC) has announced that The New York Times bestseller Dan Lyons will be the business keynote speaker. The event earlier this month announced that Thomas Middleditch, star of the hit HBO series “Silicon Valley,” will be the celebrity keynote speaker.
Lyons’s latest book, “Disrupted: My Misadventure in the Start-up Bubble,” became an instant The New York Times best seller when it was published this past April. The Los Angeles Times called it “the best book about Silicon Valley today.” A novelist and journalist, Lyons also was a screenwriter for two seasons on “Silicon Valley.”
“I don’t think anyone can successfully contradict that the combination of Lyons and Middleditch will give InfluenceHR attendees an incredibly rich and entertaining range of perspectives on the industry we toil in,” says Bret Starr, CEO, founder, and partner of The Starr Conspiracy.
InfluenceHR 2016, Oct. 3–4 in Chicago (immediately preceding, and in partnership with, the HR Technology® Conference & Exposition). InfluenceHR provides forward-looking insights into marketing within the human capital management (HCM) arena. TSC will announce additional speakers on a weekly basis.
“InfluenceHR is probably the most substantial event in the industry when it comes to delivering strategic content that makes a difference for vendors in the human capital management technology market segment,” Starr says. “But we’ve always thought the event ought to be as entertaining as it is informative. We’re pretty sure we’ll do that again this year.”
As a tech journalist, Lyons covered everything from supercomputing to smartphones, writing Newsweek cover stories on Apple’s iPad and Google’s Android operating system, as well as features on Facebook and Twitter. He has appeared as a guest on Al Jazeera, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, BBC, Bloomberg TV, Fox Business News, and National Public Radio, and has written for The New York Times Magazine, GQ, Vanity Fair, Wired, and The New Yorker.
