“Extreme Weight Loss”: Kim begins her journey to lose her excess weight and be taken seriously as a fashion designer at the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center
Aurora, COLO (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- Fashion design meets weight loss on the next episode of “Extreme Weight Loss” Season 5. Kim (29 years old, Honolulu, HI) is a successful fashion designer and owner of a beauty company. But, at just 5’1” and 279 pounds, her body doesn’t meet the image of her industry, and she finds it hard to be taken seriously.
Kim’s unhealthy eating habits began in childhood. Growing up, she was constantly bullied by her father about her weight, and she’s resented him for years. Kim finally finds the courage to confront him and take control of her life on the next episode of “Extreme Weight Loss,” airing TUESDAY, SEPT. 1 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC.
Kim’s professional life has been wildly successful. She started her own fashion line and her designs have been featured on the runway. Her next step is to break free from the negativity of her youth and gain the confidence she needs to step into the spotlight.
The behind-the-scenes seamstress secretly yearns to be the woman ON the runway, and Kim will courageously take on her father, her fear of heights and a tough break-up with her boyfriend to make that dream come true.
“Extreme Weight Loss” returns to the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center for Season 5. This is where cast members will again spend the first 90 days of his or her weight loss journey. Holly Wyatt, MD, medical director for the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center, also serves as medical director for the television program. She’s affectionately known as “Dr. Holly” to the cast members and is seen on the show each week helping participants safely lose up to half of their body weight.
At the end of this episode, Kim will continue the tradition of “paying it forward” by giving a friend or family member the opportunity to transform his or her life. The CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center will provide the designee a place at the one-week, evidence-based Extreme Weight Loss: Destination Boot Camp transformation program.
Extreme Weight Loss: Destination Boot Camp was inspired by Wyatt’s participation in the TV show. She designed the boot camp to provide participants with the tools they need to complete their own successful weight loss transformations— without the TV cameras! Limited space is available in upcoming boot camps and weight loss seekers are encouraged to learn more and register now.
