“Extreme Weight Loss” video blog from the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center: Former UCLA dance team member Rachel uses the power of her mind to “get her groove back”
(PRWEB) July 29, 2015 -- A change in mindset is key for Rachel in the latest edition of “Extreme Weight Loss”. Rachel danced for UCLA when she was in college and coaches a high school dance team. Her weight had become a big obstacle in her career. In her weekly video blog, the TV show’s medical director Holly Wyatt, MD, says that Rachel’s episode is a good reminder that when you change your mind, your body will follow.
Every episode of the hit ABC series “Extreme Weight Loss” Season 5 begins at the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo. Holly Wyatt, MD is associate director of the center and medical director for the TV show. She is affectionately known as “Dr. Holly” to the show’s cast members and her patients.
Each week, Dr. Holly watches the show then records a video blog offering fans her insight plus advice on how to begin, or continue, their own weight loss transformation journeys.
Dr. Holly points to Rachel’s ability to push the negatives out of her mind as a main reason why she was able to complete her remarkable transformation. Once she decided to think positively and began believing that she was strong enough and good enough, Rachel’s body ultimately changed as well.
“We seem to think that the time for a mind shift will be after we’ve lost twenty or fifty pounds,” Dr. Holly said. “But, changing to a positive mindset right at the beginning is what makes a real difference. Try it. You’ll be surprised.”
Dr. Holly’s advice:
• Don’t wait to get your mind right. Start now.
• Replace negative thoughts with positive ones.
• Believe in the transformative power of your mind.
• Your body follows your mind. Spend this week shifting your mindset and tell us about it on my Facebook page. You’ll be surprised by how powerful and effective it is.
Dr. Holly’s participation in the TV show inspired her to create the University of Colorado Anschutz Health and Wellness Center’s first destination weight loss program. The weeklong Extreme Weight Loss: Destination Boot Camp is designed to provide participants with the tools they need to complete their own successful weight loss transformations— without the TV cameras! Limited space is available in upcoming boot camps and weight loss seekers are encouraged to learn more and register now.
