"Leading Edge" Presents New Segments on Infection Programs in Medical Facilities, with host Jimmy Johnson
(PRWEB) December 20, 2013 -- Hospitals and medical facilities are intended to help people who are sick, injured or ill get better. No one expects to go to a hospital and find out he or she will actually become sicker due to an infection. However, the possibility of infection in a medical facility is a very real danger. One of the biggest causes of complications after surgery is sepsis or blood poisoning due to an error, exposure to bacteria or virus, or inadequate post-surgical care. This will be explored in detail in a new series of segments being produced by "Leading Edge" with host Jimmy Johnson.
Hospitals and medical facilities often keep their statistics of infections and complications confidential. So it is very hard for the general public to understand whether a facility's program is performing above standard, functioning at minimum requirements, or providing substandard care. Leading Edge host Jimmy Johnson will focus on these infection programs in medical facilities in an upcoming episode to answer related questions for viewers.
The Leading Edge series is distributed to Public Television stations throughout the United States and is not distributed through PBS. Please visit the Leading Edge website at http://www.leadingedgeseries.com or email the producers at info(at)leadingedgeseries(dot)com for more information.
