#ProudLogos - A Simple Change To Support Change
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 26, 2015 -- What started as an internal initiative for LGBTQ Pride Month has evolved into a broader effort to show support for the LGBTQ community.
#ProudLogos, an initiative led by J. Walter Thompson, began earlier this week when the company changed its logos on its website and social channels. The agency also invited its network of 10,000 employees to make their office signatures “proud,” reflecting the colors of the rainbow flag, the universal symbol of pride and diversity among the LGBTQ community.
J. Walter Thompson’s goal? To demonstrate acceptance for all.
The advertising agency is now inviting clients and partners to join the campaign and show their support by turning their logos proud for the weekend of June 26-28, Pride Weekend in New York City, and the culmination of Pride Month in many cities in the U.S. and around the world. Pride Month has become a symbol of unity and acceptance of the LGBTQ community, as well as a celebration of the history of the LGBTQ movement. With the Supreme Court’s ruling today that same-sex marriage is a constitutional right, the campaign has evolved to become even more meaningful in what has become a historic day for the gay rights movement.
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the premier awards festival for the creative communications community that’s currently in progress, changed its logo today to show support.
In addition, today the company evolved its campaign to also include #ProudPhotos. This site allows anyone to make photos of themselves proud by uploading them to our rainbow tool on proudphotos.org.
Matt Eastwood, J. Walter Thompson Company’s Worldwide Chief Creative Officer, said, “We live in an exciting time of change and progress in the quest for equality, but there is still a long way to go. Sometimes all it takes is a simple change to support and make a bigger change. I am proud of the idea, and am thrilled to see its growth with the additional support from our clients and partners.”
All #ProudLogos are being created internally by J. Walter Thompson New York, and shared with participating companies pro-bono. Companies that wish to join the #ProudLogos movement can email [email protected] for a customized logo.
