Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) September 05, 2014 -- There has always been a plethora of substance abuse rehab programs around the country, but most of them offer the same old thing: 12-Step Programs, AA/NA Meetings, YOGA, Meditation, etc. It was time for a new approach, one that could be sustained by the client when he/she leaves the facility. Recovery Unplugged had a better idea. Inspired by Richie Supa, formerly of Aerosmith, they incorporate music into their treatment program. This has enabled them to reach deep into a person’s psyche, and unlock the triggers that lead them down the path of substance abuse.
Recovery Unplugged has been extremely successful with their new approach. One of the pitfalls of every drug rehab center and drug treatment program is that it has to have an ending, where the client returns to the community, and often to the same surroundings that caused them to become a user in the first place. With the RU approach, music is used to inspire addicts to replace a desire for drugs and/or alcohol with a song in their hearts. Everyone can find a song that will touch their heart in their own unique way. Their treatment philosophy centers on providing clients with a full continuum of care and rehabilitation with guidance and support every step of the way. Clients engage in day or night treatment with community housing, intensive outpatient programming, aftercare, and sober living.
This is a specialized treatment program that limits itself to only 32 clients. They believe this program size allows for the most effective peer support and critical group therapies. Therapeutic interventions include, but are not limited to group therapy, medication management, individual counseling, psycho-educational groups, addictions education, step-work, coping skills, relapse prevention, and family therapy. Treatment Programs include Day/Night Treatment with community housing in a resort style setting, an Intensive Outpatient Program and a less intense Outpatient Program.
At Recovery Unplugged, success is defined on an individual basis. This is what Jay R., a client of Recovery Unplugged, had to say: “Thank you Richie, you really brought life and meaning back into me. I can’t repay you ever for that. You gave Jonathan his daddy back. Every time I want to use, I just keep replaying that song. You helped save my life Richie, you really did. What you’re doing for us addicts is remarkable.”
