“Santa Won’t Find Me” Worry Is Real Among Kids Traveling for Christmas, According to New HomeAway Survey
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) December 09, 2016 -- New study results reveal almost half (42 percent) of children surveyed in the US are fretting that Santa won’t find them on Christmas, and 98 percent believe they're on Santa’s nice list, suggesting there’s much to lose if Santa can’t find his way to them this holiday season.
To help assure kids that Santa will find them wherever they're celebrating Christmas this year, HomeAway®, the world leader in vacation rentals, offers a simple interactive tool found at RerouteSanta.com that lets children communicate with the North Pole about where they will be.
“With this new Kidfluencer Holiday Survey, we learned that one-in-four families will be away from home this Christmas, and we even asked kids themselves how they’re feeling about holiday travel,” said Melanie Fish, Family Travel Expert at HomeAway. “The concern that Santa won’t find traveling kids is real, so we have a solution for them with RerouteSanta.com. Whether kids will be at Grandma’s house or at the beach with their families, we can confirm that Santa and his team will know exactly where to direct the sleigh.”
Another key result of the HomeAway Kidfluencer Holiday Survey shows that children aren’t tarnished by tech and remain faithful that magic is the key to Christmas. When asked how Santa guides his sleigh,
• 60 percent of children surveyed said magic.
• 32 percent said they tell him where to go when they sit on his lap.
• And only eight percent said Santa relies on his phone’s GPS.
HomeAway also asked parents about their holiday plans:
• The HomeAway survey found 95 percent of parents said it’s important to be with family at Christmas, and kids agreed. Seven out of 10 kids surveyed said their ideal Christmas is spent with just their family.
• Nearly three-quarters (71 percent) of respondents will spend Christmas with six or more family members.
• The average distance traveled will be 157 miles.
• Staying with family comes at a comfort cost. Parents said they’ve slept on the floor (35 percent), shared a room with children (27 percent), slept on a couch (17 percent), and even slept in the car (nine percent).
• People who have rented a vacation home for this holiday season said they prioritized more space, value, a pet-friendly place to stay, and a kitchen.
Touchstone Research surveyed more than a thousand parents and children on behalf of HomeAway in October 2016. The Kidfluencer Holiday Survey is the latest study to come from HomeAway.com, which has more than a million online bookable homes listed for rent in 190 countries.
