#SolarVets Prep for Jobs Thanks to TVA Solar Scholarships
Murrieta, CA (PRWEB) August 03, 2015 -- “Responding to some national initiatives with goals of preparing transitioning military service members for work in the renewable energy space,” said Kelly Smith, President of The Veteran Asset, “We at TVA are celebrating the cause by facilitating scholarships of 18 students in August. The mission is proving successful, as we already have a wait list.”
The strict curriculum of the August class consists of classroom coursework, 100’s of quiz questions, break-out sessions, and hands-on labs, whereby students build an actual operating solar system. All of this leads to the graduates taking the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Entry Level Exam, proctored on the tenth day.
Upon graduation, TVA goes to work assisting the veterans in finding job placement with local, regional and national solar companies and tracking their progress. TVA’s mission includes collecting and measuring data for this newly emerging population of employees, who served in the U.S. military and are now seeking employment.
