"Wish I May" Gala & Wine Dinner Benefits TSC Research
Lake Forest, IL (PRWEB) April 03, 2014 -- WISH I MAY, Bcureful’s third annual gala and wine dinner organized to raise funds in support of research and a cure for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC), a genetic disorder that effects one in 6,000 newborns, is set for Thursday, May 15 at the Deer Path Inn of Lake Forest.
The wine dinner presents a menu thoughtfully created by the Inn’s Chef Khellil and paired with wines from Parducci Winery, noted as the Greenest and first Carbon-Neutral Winery in the country.
Special guests include the recently crowned Mrs. Alaska, Erica Chilla, whose son Ace was diagnosed with TSC. With a goal to raise awareness for TSC and focus on a cure as her platform, Erica will continue her journey to the Mrs. United States competition this July in Las Vegas.
Entertainment at the WISH I MAY event includes Artbeat Live, a high-energy performance art show by world renowned painter Elliott From (recently featured on ABC’s Windy City Live). From creates one-of-a-kind portraits in a matter of minutes to music with explosive brush strokes, vivid colors and expressionistic style. Two paintings created at the WISH I MAY gala will be auctioned off LIVE in addition to generous silent auction packages to benefit TSC research.
Local music legends Rafael Mendez & The Fabulous House Rockers will provide guests with the opportunity to dance the night away to their unique combination of blues, Latin rhythms and funk at WISH I MAY.
Funds raised are earmarked to aid in the development of a TSC Center at Lurie Children’s Hospital and help fill a gap in funding for research at NYU’s Langone Medical Center.

Julie Scroggins, founded the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Bcureful to focus resources on Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, or TSC. TSC is a genetic disorder that causes non-malignant lesions to develop in the brain and other vital organs. Although the growths are almost always benign, they can cause devastating effects on multiple aspects of development. It’s estimated that one to two million people worldwide have TSC.
