A First for RemoteApp Recording!
(PRWEB) July 01, 2016 -- Stepok Image Lab has just announced an updated version of their Screen Anytime software package, the security camera system for computer screens. With this update comes the much-awaited feature to allow users to record RemoteApp sessions. This marks a milestone for Screen Anytime as the first product to provide support for a record RemoteApp feature.
Screen Anytime users can now record RemoteApp sessions in addition to user sessions and RDP sessions. Screen Anytime will record RemoteApp sessions to accessible and user-friendly video log files to aid companies in their various monitoring and surveillance activities. The record RemoteApp feature can run continuously to capture RemoteApp logins around the clock with the same stability as other Screen Anytime screen capture and recording features. Users can record RemoteApp for long term storage for reference use and system support purposes.
Centralised management for the new record RemoteApp feature is also available to aid companies in real-time screen monitoring activities. The default setting in Screen Anytime Server Edition is set to record RemoteApp video log files to a local server to be managed from there. This can be easily modified to allow synchronisation to facilitate the centralised management of all surveillance files from up to 64 terminals simultaneously.
RemoteApp is a Transaction Server (TS) feature that came out with the Windows 2008 server. It allows administrators to publish any program installed on the server to their users. The RemoteApp feature will generate a special Remote Desktop file (RDP file) so that the on-server program can be run locally on remote user devices. This means that administrators do not have to publish the entire RDP desktop to their remote users. Screen Anytime can then be manually set to record RemoteApp sessions.
By simply publishing ScreenLog.exe and setting the original program as the parameters in the command line, this prepares Screen Anytime to record RemoteApp sessions. ScreenLog.exe is then ready to run automatically whenever a remote user connects to the server via this RDP file. The original program is recorded until the user ends the session or disconnects. The RemoteApp files can then be found with .app.svl file name extensions.
