A Forever Recovery Takes Part in Global Employee Health & Fitness Month
Battle Creek, MI (PRWEB) May 13, 2015 -- Healthy Employees and Healthy Clients
Global Employee Health & Fitness Month is a global health and fitness month that began as a single fitness challenge day helping tens of thousands of people from 1989 to 2010. Now that fitness day has expanded into Global Employee Health & Fitness Month. It was established by the National Association for Health & Fitness with the goal of helping people throughout the world gain a healthier lifestyle in their working environments.
Creating Healthier Worksites
Global Employee Health & Fitness Month encourages employers throughout the world to create healthier worksites that promote increased physical fitness and the resulting emotional health. When an employer signs up to participate in Global Employee Health & Fitness Month, he or she then challenges employees to a month of fitness and health-promoting activities. Ready to get started? Here are some of the activities you can expect to participate in during Global Employee Health & Fitness Month:
Employees form health groups to challenge each other in fitness and eating goals. This is completely customized to your individual and group needs at your workplace. You can consult with fellow employees and with your employer to set up challenges and make suggestions for changing the health environment of your workplace. In addition, you can expect to develop a culminating project to cap your month of learning. This can be a project where you work with your colleagues and employer to improve the health of your worksite. Maybe you would suggest daily walks for all employees, an outdoor seating area so employees can pack healthy lunches and eat together or installing a shower for employees who bike, walk or run to work every day. Finally, as a participant in Global Employee Health & Fitness Month, users will log all of their activities on the GEHFM website.
Employees can both track and share their fitness and health accomplishments throughout the month. All in all, participants will be boosting their self-confidence throughout the journey and measuring real goals that they can look back on and be proud of. The best part is that your log provides a model for continuing users’ fitness goals beyond Global Employee Health & Fitness Month.
A Forever Recovery always encourages its staff to get healthy. We also recognize the importance of health and fitness during recovery. In a part to not only encourage health in employee relationships we will be focusing with our clients the importance of nutrition in drug addiction recovery this month with our new blog released on our site discussing the role of nutrition in addiction recovery. Nutrition, healthy habits and fitness help to create a better environment for those learning to live a life drug-free.
