A Medieval Village in Tuscany Seeks Funding Assistance from the Indiegogo Community for Lorenzo's Blue Shoes and to Save a Secret Garden
Montalcino, Italy (PRWEB) December 16, 2013 -- This campaign is the brain child of a group of young non-profit volunteers in Quartiere Pianello in the village of Montalcino, Tuscany. After World War II, their elders looked back to the 1400's and took up the challenge to preserve traditions and culture so that the identity of being "Montalcinesi" could never be lost. Quartiere Pianello passes precious values down through the generations with all the strength they've got, giving children and young people a strong sense of belonging, self worth, dignity and value.
These kids worked for 10 years to restore their 1,000-year-old crumbling medieval church. Every cent they raised over a decade went towards restoring this jewel, and they got the job done. In those years of church fundraising, conditions in headquarters deteriorated, especially in our kitchen, to our gorgeous Renaissance costumes that are showing signs of wear to our 3 wheeler which is breaking down. We need you to help get Quartiere Pianello back on track so we can continue fundraising, guiding our kids, creating a way of life for the future, and teaching them to preserve the past. They need help to get Quartiere Pianello back on track so they can continue guiding the kids, preserving the value of heritage and teaching them to create their future in today's world. The funding goal is $16,800... but they have a dream! These kids ask for your help in their battle to save a ruined Secret Garden from becoming a concrete car park right next door to their restored church. They need you to stand up and fight with them, saying no to the loss of yet another green space to concrete. Any funds raised above their first goal will go towards realizing their dream to get that garden.
