A New Ride for Texans Fans: Uber
Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 09, 2014 -- Houston’s most popular professional sports team is proud to be the first NFL team to partner with Uber Technologies to help Texans fans get home safe on gameday.
By entering the promotional code TEXANS in the Uber app (that can be downloaded from iTunes or Google play), first-time Uber users will receive up to $20 off their first ride anywhere in the Houston area. In addition to having a ride ready within minutes, fans can get home safely from their neighborhood bar, tailgate party or NRG Stadium.
Fans at NRG Stadium can also use the official Uber pickup area located adjacent to NRG Center, northeast of the stadium at Fannin Street. The designated area will make it easy for riders to tap the app and connect with drivers quickly after the game.
“We want our fans to have a great time at NRG Stadium, and that includes responsible alcohol consumption before, during and after our games,” said Jamey Rootes, President of the Houston Texans. “We have a comprehensive set of initiatives to encourage responsibility and this provides us with another way to promote safe and reliable transportation to and from Texans games.”
"Uber is proud to partner with the Texans to give fans the ability to enjoy each game without having to get behind the wheel," said Sarfraz Maredia, General Manager, Uber Houston. "Football is a part of our DNA in Texas and we're thrilled to help enhance the gameday experience for our fellow Texans fans."
