A New Year Brings New Shows to Broadway

• Bridges of Madison County (Musical)

Based on the best-selling novel by Robert James Waller, Bridges of Madison County is a love story about an Iowa housewife that returns home for a visit and has a brief, romantic affair with a National Geographic photographer.
• Les Misérables (Musical)
Imperial Theatre; Opening March 1, 2014
Making its third appearance on Broadway, and based on the epic novel by Victor Hugo, Les Misérables is the classic tale of lawman Javert and his relentless pursuit of convict Jean Valjean through the commotion of revolutionary France.
• Rocky (Musical)
Winter Garden Theatre; Opening March 13, 2014
Based on the 1976 film written by Sylvester Stallone, Rocky is the tale of small-time Philadelphia boxer, Rocky Balboa, who not only gets a chance to contend for the heavyweight boxing championship against Apollo Creed, but also a chance at love with a young woman.
• Aladdin (Musical)
New Amsterdam Theatre; Opening March 20, 2014
Following the 1992 Disney movie, Aladdin is the story of a poor street rat who falls in love with a beautiful princess and hopes to win her over with the help of a magical lamp.
• A Raisin in the Sun (Drama)
Ethel Barrymore Theatre; Opening April 3, 2014
Denzel Washington stars in this Broadway show about an inner-city African-American family and their attempts to buy a house in a predominantly white, prejudice area of Chicago.
• Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Musical)
Belasco Theatre; Opening April 22, 2014
Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a revolutionary rock musical starring Neil Patrick Harris as a transgender, East German cold war bride, fronting a band and trying to find her lost soulmate, Tommy.
