A Partnership between Goodwill-Suncoast and Bargain Computers and Electronics Delivers Affordable Technology to Consumers’ Laps
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) November 19, 2013 -- Just in time for the holidays, shoppers can buy completely refurbished pre-owned laptops for just $209.99 at Goodwill.
Each laptop comes in a new box, pre-loaded with the Windows 7 operation system, a Dual Core processor or equivalent, an 80 GB hard drive, 1 GB RAM, and a full 90-day warranty.
The laptops come on the heels of a successful product launch earlier this year. In July, Bargain Computers and Electronics (Bargain) and Goodwill-Suncoast collaborated to sell complete computer desktop systems exclusively at Goodwill-Suncoast stores.
The laptops come from Bargain, a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher. It receives computers from organizations, businesses, and government entities that no longer need them. If the computers are in optimal condition, they go through a rigorous process that includes sanitizing data on the hard drives and testing – producing a "like new" complete computer. Rather than ending up in landfills (where electronics contribute 70% of toxins), these computer systems and laptops can land in the hands of consumers who cannot afford or do not want to spend more for the technology.
“We are thrilled to add laptops to our mix of products from Bargain,” said Kym Bandy, vice president of acquisitions and allocations at Goodwill-Suncoast. “We are two companies who share the ideals of sustainability and reuse, and ultimately our customers will benefit with high-quality, affordable products.”
“Bargain’s success is built on taking the old and making it new – the science of reuse,” said Brian Diesselhorst, Senior VP of Bargain. “We always planned to add laptops to our Goodwill offerings and are pleased the community will have the chance to own affordable fully functioning laptops.”
