A Second Grade Teacher and InventHelp Client Invents Effective Vocabulary Game (LSS-285)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) July 29, 2013 -- Figuring that there had to be a better way to learn vocabulary other than flash cards and other memorization games, a second grade teacher from Louisville, Ky., has developed a prototype of a vocabulary game that teaches vocabulary through interactive play. The WORD FEUD allows players of a wide age range to enjoy hours of fun and learning.
It teaches children to recognize spelling patterns in rhyming words and recognize word family chunks, which gives the players a sense of accomplishment. The game could be used by players just learning vocabulary, or by students who wished to improve their vocabulary. Additionally, it could also have appeal to schools that provide educational games for students attending their sessions.
When asked what inspired her idea, the inventor explained, "I am a second grade teacher and this is my tenth year of teaching this grade level. The idea of the Word Feud came to me after using several other educational games, such as flash cards. I thought that the games needed to be more entertaining."
The original design was submitted to the Louisville office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
