A+ Technology & Security Names Jorge Garcia as Director of New England Operations

(A+ Technology), a systems integrator specializing in physical security, audio/visual, LED lighting and advanced IT solutions, has appointed Jorge Garcia as the company’s first Director of New England Operations. In this position, he will head all sales and operational functions at the company’s new Bridgeport, Connecticut, office, which is scheduled to open in February, 2016. The office will initially be staffed by 7 full-time employees; Mr. Garcia plans to increase that number to over 20 in the coming year.
Mr. Garcia has been working closely with A+ Technology for several years – albeit in the role of valued customer. As the City of Bridgeport’s Director of Public Facilities and Construction Management, Mr. Garcia was responsible for spearheading the community’s city-wide security and surveillance initiative. Working in conjunction with A+ Technology, this project recently culminated with the completion of a state-of-the-art command center that will allow Bridgeport Law Enforcement to better monitor and respond to a vast array of security concerns. In addition to responsibilities related to security, Mr. Garcia also supervised fifteen city departments employing over 400 workers, including city engineers, sanitation, recycling, Parks and Recreation, the Board of Education and airport operations. Under his supervision, the city recently completed construction of its first new high school in 50 years, which is one of two new city construction projects to earn LEED Gold certification.
After 21 years of working for the city, Mr. Garcia is enthusiastic about making a career move to the private sector.
