A Turf Removal Project Is Underway at Oakmont Country Club
Glendale, California (PRWEB) January 12, 2015 -- Oakmont Country Club is doing its part to reduce water usage in Southern California. This turf removal project began in November of 2014 and will conclude in March of 2015. Oakmont will be replacing the 23 acres of turf with native sand and drought resistant plants. This reduction in turf will reduce Oakmont’s water usage by 20%. Oakmont wanted to be proactive in response to the current water shortage facing its community and California. Oakmont is taking part in a program that was a result of a proposition proposed by Governor Jerry Brown and is being funded through the Metropolitan Water District.
