Santa Fe Springs, CA (PRWEB) January 14, 2016 -- Aberdeen LLC has upped the ante by delivering an unprecedented 12Gb/s SAS hard drive storage capacity of up to 624TB in only 4U of rack real estate at an amazingly low price point. Dubbed the 49 Series, the included devices are: AberNAS N49W Windows NAS, AberNAS N49L Linux NAS, and Stirling X49 Storage Server.
These storage devices all support an industry leading 78 hard drives in a 4U form factor, which provides an ideal platform for high density cloud services, archiving, backup, high performance computing and enterprise wide server and storage tasks. Based upon the latest Intel® Xeon® processor E5 v3 product family, they all support up to 1TB of main memory.
The remarkably flexible design of this series enables these devices to be configured to the user’s exact specifications and requirements. For the Stirling X49, you may choose between the Windows Server operating system, many flavors of Linux or install your own custom operating system, while the AberNAS N49W features Windows Storage Server 2012 R2 and the AberNAS N49L is delivered with Aberdeen’s feature rich, custom Linux implementation.
Unique features across this product line include visible disk status indicators that enable service engineers to assess disk status without opening the top cover, flexible OCP LAN mezzanine cards supporting a variety of networking options, operating systems which reside on mirrored hot swap SSDs, and hard disk data drives which individually power on and off to minimize energy consumption.
Additionally, the chassis features screw-less/adapter-less disk trays for easy hard disk drive installation/replacement of either 3.5” or 2.5” drives, and a robust external cable management arm to enable nonstop business operation during the hot swap of any of its 78 hard drives.
