Newton, NC (PRWEB) April 05, 2014 -- Abernethy Laurels Retirement Community is excited to announce an upcoming art show that will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 5:30pm in their Community Center. The public is invited to attend.
The art show will showcase more than 30 local artists work including Pat Flachbart, Martha Mauney, Anne Fredley, Meredith Janssen, Carl Zwingli, Susan Grant and many more. Collectively, the "realism" exhibit will feature various media including watercolor, acrylic and oil. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists as well as to purchase selected pieces.
Most of the participating artists belong to Foothills Painters, a group of distinguished artists that came together in 2002 to promote and invigorate the creative talents of its members and to expose to the Unifour Area the special talents of its residents as well as to generate interest in fine art. Foothills Painters have held successful exhibitions in Hickory, Newton, Morganton, Taylorsville, and have participated in numerous artistic events at venues throughout the area. Artist Carl Zwingli said "The 2013 art show was one of the most well-designed and successful art shows that I've participated in."
