Abington – Jefferson Health’s Dental Care Access Program Serves Over 100 Local Residents
Abington, PA (PRWEB) October 02, 2015 -- Abington – Jefferson Health is pleased to announce that it has received a second $100,000 grant from the VNA Foundation of Greater North Penn in support of its Dental Care Access program, which offers quality and accessible dental care to low-income families in the region.
The Abington Dental Care Access program, which launched in October 2014, is designed to provide dental services to uninsured patients and those who have Medicaid coverage. Through the program, dental care is provided in the offices of 42 participating dentists from the Montgomery – Bucks Dental Society. These dentists provide the full range of dental services, which are subsidized by Abington through the VNA Foundation grant dollars. Services provided include cleanings, root canals, scaling, extractions, crowns, fillings, partials, anesthesia, X-rays and sealants.
When the program began last year, patients who previously used the Abington Health Dental Clinic were notified of local dentists in the area who could provide services through the Dental Care Access program. From the inception of the program through June 2015, 79 adults and 29 children accessed services worth $76,000.

This is so important because dental care is a key component of overall good health.”
