Beyond these startling numbers are stories of women who have to endure the physical and emotional effects of the abuse. In her new book, “God's Timing Not Mine” (published by Xlibris AU), author Kym Miller tells the true story of Alice, a woman who suffered domestic violence, and her journey to freedom and healing.

Alice is a Christian mother who lived through many years of domestic and family violence before finally escaping and setting out to rebuild her life. Alice shared her experiences with Miller who decided to write a book about her harrowing but ultimately triumphant story. Miller had experienced domestic violence herself and was instilled with the desire to help women who were in or had escaped violent relationships.

“I contacted Alice and discussed writing a book about her life,” Miller says, “She gladly shared her stories to try and bring hope and comfort to those going through the same desperate times that she did.”
