ACA (Affordable Care Act) and W2 Reporting Simplified with CenterPoint Payroll Software

CenterPoint now provides users the option of eFiling both ACA and W2 reporting, with the additional option for employers to have the entire process completed by Red Wing Software’s certified eFiling provider, Aatrix.
As of 2015, the ACA requires information reporting by employers with 50 or more full-time employees (including full time equivalent employees) regarding the health care coverage they offer to their full-time employees, known as Section 6056 rules. These ‘Large Employers’ must report about the health care coverage offered to those employees. Also the health care coverage offered must meet certain requirements, or the employer may face penalties. ACA reporting can be complex. CenterPoint Payroll has standard fields where information pertinent to the ACA reporting is stored. At the end of the year, employers can run built-in reports which pull information that has been entered into the payroll system over the year. These ACA reports can be printed, eFiled, or the whole process can be completed by Red Wing Software’s certified eFiling provider, in a Complete eFiling option. Employers choosing Complete eFiling can combine the filing of W2 and ACA Reports for significant discounts.

W2 reports have been included within the software for many years. eFiling and Complete eFiling are also available from within the standard system, and a cost is incurred per employee if the eFiling or Complete eFiling services are selected. The filing and viewing of ACA forms will be available December of 2015. Users can currently track all applicable information in CenterPoint, and reporting will be available in time for 2015 tax filing.
