Access Electronic Patient Signatures and E-Forms Solution Chosen by Mount Nittany Medical Center

The facility had a homegrown e-forms application, but as their needs grew it couldn’t keep pace. The solution also required staff members to scan forms into electronic health records (EHR) – a time-consuming step Mount Nittany Medical Center was eager to eliminate. The existing system also provided only limited electronic signature capabilities. These are the reasons the hospital turned to Access.
Now, Mount Nittany Medical Center’s registration staff will be able to generate forms packets on demand and easily capture patients’ electronic signatures on them. Once completed, the e-forms and signatures will be sent directly into the correct EHR, making them easily accessible across the hospital.
“With the Access system, we’ll be able to capture electronic patient signatures in registration and send authorized forms directly into patient charts without scanning,” said Amanda Rummel, Assistant Director of Patient Access.
Another benefit to the Access solution is its intuitive forms design tool, which will enable Mount Nittany Medical Center to easily create new e-forms and update existing ones as needed. Only the latest version of each form will be published, supporting the hospital’s compliance initiative.
“We’re excited to start using the Access forms designer, which will make it much easier to update forms when there are internal or regulatory changes,” Rummel said.
