Access Partner The Last Well Completes Final New Water Project in Liberia’s Bomi County
Sulphur Springs, Texas (PRWEB) July 26, 2016 -- Access today announced that its partner The Last Well (TLW) has completed its final new water project in Liberia’s Bomi County. By the end of the year, the non-profit organization will finish all its water projects in this region. In addition to drilling new wells, this involves rehabilitating existing ones and installing more than 800 clean water systems in the homes of Liberians whose villages are too small or remote to be reached by a drilling rig. In addition to all Bomi County residents getting clean water, they will also receive the good news of the Gospel, which has currently been shared with about 50 percent of the county’s population.
“Thanks to the fine work of our volunteers, project managers and partners, we’re proud to say that we’ve finished drilling the final new well in Bomi County,” said TLW founder and director Dr. Todd Phillips. “Now we need more donations so we can finish bringing clean water to every man, woman and child in this area.”
Once everyone in Bomi County has received clean water and the Gospel, TLW intends to host a celebration, and will invite the president, the Minister of Public Works, the Bomi County Superintendent and other dignitaries, along with the national press, to recognize completion of the county-wide clean water initiative.
Finishing water projects in Bomi County will help TLW move closer toward its goal of providing clean water and sharing the Gospel with every Liberia by the end of the decade. Over the past six years, the organization has faced the water crisis in Liberia head-on, reaching over 750,000 Liberians through over 1,000 clean water projects.
