Accessory for Closed Suction Drains Invented by InventHelp Client (NJD-762)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) November 25, 2014 -- “I work as a nurse,” said an inventor, from Edison, N.J. “and I thought patients needed a secure and comfortable way to store a closed suction drain.” In an effort to find a better way, she invented the WOMBAT.
The patent-pending WOMBAT ensures that a closed suction drain or bulb remains securely in place. It also provides a safe and hygienic way to stabilize the reservoir containing the body fluids. As a result, it allows the post-operative patient to ambulate or be seated in a chair without the drain simply hanging from the body and it also helps prevent the bulb from being pulled or cut when changing the patient’s dressing. The invention features a convenient design that is easy to wear so it is ideal for post-operative patients such as individuals who have had abdominal surgery and mastectomies. Additionally, the WOMBAT helps prevent leaking and irritation, it provides peace of mind for patients and it is producible in design variations.
The inventor described the invention design. “My design enhances safety, sanitary conditions and peace of mind for post-operative patients.”
The original design was submitted to the New Jersey office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
