Accordion Hires John M. Jureller as Managing Director
NEW YORK (PRWEB) November 30, 2017 -- Accordion, the private equity focused financial consulting firm, today announced that it has hired John M. Jureller as Managing Director. Jureller’s hiring underscores Accordion’s commitment to supporting private equity sponsors and their portfolio company management teams develop and execute value creation plans. Accordingly, Jureller’s experience on both sides of the operations equation (as an operating executive at General Atlantic and as a CFO at Frontier Communications) makes him uniquely suited to serve and grow Accordion’s client roster of over 150 fund sponsors and portfolio companies.
Accordion was purpose-built to serve as a bolt-on operations group to drive office of the CFO initiatives. According to Nick Leopard, CEO and Founder of Accordion, “that purpose has never been more critical as the private equity industry finds itself at a portfolio operations strategy crossroads.”
The industry has embraced the importance of operational capabilities as a means to add value beyond the table stakes of sourcing and traditional deal structuring techniques. Moreover, value creation has been given greater prioritization by Limited Partners.
But, the industry has yet to define an operating partner paradigm and firms have begun to contract some of the outsized operations groups born over the last two decades. As a result, fund sponsors and their portfolio companies are looking for guidance vis-à-vis their operating playbooks and assistance executing value creation initiatives.

Jureller joins Accordion with over 35 years of CFO and senior financial experience across a variety of industries. Most recently, Jureller served as the EVP and CFO of Frontier Communications, where he assisted in negotiating, executing and integrating two substantial transformative transactions, raising over $28 billion of equity and debt capital, building the capabilities of the finance organization and improving the quality of the accounting, tax, internal audit, investor relations and FP&A functions. Prior to that, Jureller was SVP, Resources Group of General Atlantic LLC, a global growth private equity firm managing $20 billion of capital.

Jain oversees the firm‘s West Coast expansion, which began with the opening of a Bay Area office in San Francisco’s Financial District.
