Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence (ACE) Completes Second Consecutive “Triple Play” with Three Reaccreditations, Including its First International Facility
Washington, DC (PRWEB) December 16, 2015 -- Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence (ACE) today announced that, for the second month in a row, three hospitals have achieved ACE reaccreditation for their cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) facilities, maintaining the organization’s 100% reaccreditation rate for accredited facilities. The announcement marks a milestone for ACE in that it includes the first international facility to achieve the distinction of ACE reaccreditation: the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In June 2013, KFSHRC became the first overseas facility to attain ACE accreditation. In addition, two hospitals in the Baptist Health South Florida network – Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Baptist Hospital and at South Miami Hospital – was also reaccredited by ACE.
King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) Reaccreditation
KFSHRC is a Saudi government-sponsored facility with over 8,000 employees and more than 1,000 acute care patient beds, serving Riyadh and the region surrounding the capital. The Heart Centre at KFSHRC is a tertiary cardiac care delivery center that adheres to international standards of excellence. Patients are evaluated in highly specialized clinics by a multidisciplinary staff who are uniquely trained and certified by either North American or European boards in their respective medical sub-specialties; patients are offered therapies consistent with disease-specific management guidelines in accordance with international standards. The cardiac catheterization lab at KFSHRC is furnished with state-of-the-art technologies and complies with current guidelines from the major professional societies, and meets the growing needs of the Kingdom and its people for all types of cardiovascular diseases, obviating the need for many patients to seek treatment abroad.
