Ace Technology Partners Completes $4.8m Custom Server Order for U.S. Air National Guard
CHICAGO (PRWEB) January 28, 2015 -- Ace Technology Partners, one of the leading workstation/server resellers in the U.S., just completed and shipped a major order of custom servers to the U.S. Air National Guard. The 370 rack-mount servers were distributed to a total of 92 bases throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
Ace Technology Partners CEO John Samborski said, “We have been working with the U.S. Air National Guard for many years. They know we will pay attention to details and use the highest quality components available. The bottom line is that we have a 30-year reputation for providing the most cost-effective solution without cutting corners.”
This was one of the largest orders that Ace Technology Partners has filled through its federal NETCENTS 2 contract. The contract provides agencies, including the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense, with an approved, proven source for standardized networking equipment, supplies, and related services. Products that Ace Technology Partners is authorized to sell through NETCENTS 2 include servers, storage, networking equipment, peripherals, multimedia, software, and identity management/biometric hardware and software.
The Air National Guard specified custom servers because of the unusually large amount of network connectivity they need. A typical off-the-shelf server would not satisfy the requirements. The objective was to replace current hardware that was already out of warranty and avoid degradation of services. The equipment had to be capable of integrating into existing compute, storage, network hardware, and VMware software licenses
To meet connectivity requirements, the custom Ace Technology Partners solutions each consist of 2U rack-mount servers with dual gigabit NIC and dual 10GbE NIC on the motherboard, while also supporting up to 6x expansion cards (5x NIC, 1x SAS RAID). All hardware is VMware- certified, including the solid state drives.
“The Air National Guard was looking for a performance specification, rather than a brand name,” Samborski added. “What they received was a smart, cost-effective, warrantied solution to fit their exact needs.” The equipment will serve as virtualization suites for network control centers.
